Harbour maintenance is a continuous process and Rohde Nielsen A/S has long-term maintenance dredging contracts with a considerable number of harbour authorities all over the world.
Many contracts are based on a ‘package deal’ agreement. We assume the responsibility for keeping the harbour open and ensuring the necessary depths of water.
The company fleet of specialized units including hopper dredgers, backhoe and bucket dredgers with self propelled barges are designed for both maintenance and capital dredging. The units for maintenance dredging include 10 Trailer Suction Hopper Dredgers (TSHD) with different hopper capacity to ensure maximum flexibility. The hopper dredgers

The large number of successfully completed dredging projects carried out by Rohde Nielsen A/S is due to the Group’s flexibility in being able to use hopper dredgers for soft material and backhoe or bucket dredgers for hard material.
To ensure our customers the most competitive and accurate solutions, the Group’s dredgers are equipped with the latest technology. The data received from the echo sounder, radio tide gauge and positioning system is fed into a computer linked to the dredger enabling the dredge operator to view the design contour and the actual contour on the monitor.
