Rohde Nielsen A/S has been engaged in both capital and maintenance dredging for more than 40 years. This has provided the company with new knowledge, expertise and experience necessary for tackling the broader requirements of its customers.

The Rohde Nielsen A/S’s fleet of specialized capital units including hopper dredgers, backhoe and bucket dredgers with self propelled barges are designed for both maintenance and capital dredging. The units for capital dredging include mechanical dredgers such as the very powerful backhoe dipper dredger Mjølner R and bucket dredgers Ajax R and Frigg R. For disposal of the dredged materials Rohde Nielsen A/S has barges and barge unloaders Tyr R and Gylfe R for onshore disposal/reclamation.

The large number of successfully completed dredging projects carried out by the Rohde Nielsen A/S is due to the company’s flexibility in being able to use hopper dredgers for soft material and backhoe/bucket dredgers for hard material.

To ensure for our customers the most competitive and accurate solutions, the Group’s dredgers are equipped with the latest technology. The data received from the echo sounder, radio tide gauge and positioning system is fed into a computer linked to the dredger enabling the dredge operator to view the design contour and the actual contour on the monitor.”
